Rush crossed over the Rainbow Bridge last Friday.  I don't have much to say right now because there's just too much to say.

Great buddy.

Great rabbit catcher.

Great squirrel chaser.

Great dog alarm.

Great Show Dog:
UKC Highlights:

#1 UKC American Eskimo 2005
#5 UKC American Eskimo 2006
#6 UKC American Eskimo 2002
NAEDA Showdog of the Year 2005
#5 UKC Premier Top Ten All Breed Finals 2006
10 UKC Best in Show (All Breed/Multi Breed Shows)
5 UKC Reserve Best in Show

AKC Highlights

47 AKC Events Entered. 43 AKC Best of Breed wins and One Best of Opposite Sex
#3 Ranked AKC American Eskimo 2002
2002 Eukanuba Invitational 1st Award of Excellence
2002 Westminster Kennel Club Show Invitee.
March 2007  Best of Breed AKC Regional Specialty  Louisville, KY  Judge Edd Bivin  (45 AE's Entered)  Rush's final show weekend.

Rush was the first American Eskimo to be ranked in the Top Ten in both the UKC and AKC in the same year.  2002

Rush loved being in the show ring.

Rush loved just being my dog. Which meant, Rush got to be a dog.  Roll around in the dirt, get muddy, howl when he heard certain songs on the radio, run around the yard, bark at the doorbell, catch treats, snoop around the house.  He had being a dog down to a fine art.

I'm sure going to miss him.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. He was a very special boy. He was Grandpa (or Great-Grandpa) to Sprite, right?

I don't know if Shasta or Kola come from his line, but I don't think so.

He was a great dog and will be missed.

Rush was an incredibly beautiful boy right up to his last day. And he still is even though you can't physically see him. I'm so sorry for your deep loss and although I'm new to the forum and there are no words that will sound right I just wanted to say I am sorry. Like most people here, I know the pain of losing that great dog in one's life and there was nothing anyone could say that made it ok for me to be without my boy. May his memory and spirit stay with you

Crying  OMG!  I can't believe it!  Rush was a fantastic dog.  He was your special buddy.  A dog show without Rush just didn't seem right.  And like you said in the post about my Rewind, they both made it to exactly 13 years and 4 months right to the day.

I'm so glad there were so many people touched by Rush.  He was quite the character.  Especially when he would win a toy at a show.  He was like his daddy Walker with a toy.  Play for hours with it and loved those squeakies!  Rush was such a handsome boy and such a good boy too.

Oh no!!!  I am just so heartbroken to read this.  I remember seeing pics of him several years ago when I was over at Rob and Greg's looking at some of their show pics.   He was a beautiful boy and had such a wonderful show career but best of all he was a very special and loved member of your family.  I could always tell by your posts what a special bond the two of you had.  He will be missed by many.

Dave, I know that you were the best person to be in Rush's life.  He couldn't have had a better home to live out the great life as a dog.  I am so glad I was able to share this amazing dog with you, Dave.  My heartfelt sympathy and love.  R.I.P. Rush.  We will always remember you and love you. What a great line of Dogs,---- Walker, Rush, RJ and now the grand kids.  Meiko, Ollie, Sprite Kooza, Clover, Greta, Tonka, Afton and some others out there who can claim Rush as Dad and Grandpa and yes, there are now Great grand kids of his to continue his legacy!

Thanks to everyone for all of the kind words.  Even though Rush hadn't really been Rush for the past few months it just isn't the same without him around.

I had forgotten to include one of my all time favorite pictures of him.  This is the look he'd give me when he wanted something. Tongue 2  It would usually begin when I was talking on the phone.  He was persistent and patient. Big Grin

What a handsome boy Smile he had a good life and left you with some great memories.
