Michael (or anyone else)?

Out of curiosity, how many PMs can we get in a box before limit is reached?

If one and if reached, does this mean we are blocked from others coming in or it deletes the ones at the bottom before accepting the new ones in.

I have no issues. Just a thought I had!

Thanks.

There is a limit to the number of private messages one can keep in their pm box.  It seems to be somewhere between 75 and 90.

When that limit is reached the sender of the next one gets an unable to deliver message. It is not delivered.

Now Helene, you should know this as twice you have told me to dump my pm's as you couldn't reach me!!!

Well, the magic 8 ball says.....

100 messages in each member's PM box.

Now....what I'm not totally sure on is if that includes ALL messages, or just inbox. Like if you save outgoing messages and setup other folders and stuff notes aside or whatnot. Whether it's 100 per folder or all combined. I'm thinking it's all combined. I mainly just use the inbox and only save certain outgoing messages.

I also go in and delete posts down from my PM box periodically...like when I get up to 80 or 90 or so.....just to keep ahead of things. Have never had mine reach the limit, so not totally sure happens....but gather the notices Mary mentioned are what does occur.....you get a notice and it bounces.

Best thing is to keep the count at a reasonable level and prune things as need be. I have used Treepad to log notes from my PM box. Actually, Treepad ( www.treepad.com )is a great little utility for tons of things...recipes. taking notes off the net, or storing all kinds of little ditty information as it works for you. The free (lite) version is more than enough to manage most anything you'd need. Give it a shot, or try some other way of archiving notes down so you can keep ahead of the game and not worry about getting bounced messages or whantnot. Smile

But, anyway...... 100 seems to be the limit, and I gather that means all combined. Smile
