We've had Yoshi just over 3 months - I was kind of hoping that we wouldn't have to deal with him blowing his coat quite so soon but we've had little white fluff balls all over the house for almost 2 weeks now *sigh*. We've had Keesha 2 1/2 years and have luckily only had her blow her coat once - I guess I should be glad they aren't blowing them together!! The most frustrating thing is that when first got him, his coat looked so lackluster and wasn't very fluffy. My husband and I had been commenting a lot lately on how much fuller and fluffier his coat was looking and he goes and blows it LOL. Oh well..... Maybe it will come back even more beautiful

At least it's given me lots of opportunity to work with him and his brushing issues. When we brought him home, he had almost no tolerance for a brush touching him and would snap and run almost immediately. Now he'll sit for me for as long as 40 minutes and unless I come across a sensitive spot or a snarl that I don't brush through slow enough, he doesn't snap at all. Smile

I remember reading once that male dogs tend to blow their coats around their birthdays - does anyone know if it's true? We have no history on Yoshi so it would be neat to know approximately when his birthday is!

its twice a year if they are altered.
generally spring and fall....spring to lose the winter coat and fall to lose the summer coat. coincided with the days becoming shorter, and then longer again. mine have been on a slooooow blow so far.
