Hey Michael - did you see the tracking dog map mentioned in the post under Obedience and Agility? Is there any chance we could get our Eskie board members on a map like that on this web site? It might be helpful to new members of the board who want to find out if someone lives close to them, and it might be helpful in planning Eskie Fests and choosing a good location for everybody to meet.
Just a thought!

Well, for now, the map Melissa setup will probably suffice. I see a number are already using it, so that's great.
I *have* looked into these types of maps in the past....ones I could install right on the site here, and not run off some remote service, and just have never liked the ones available. BUT...it has been quite some time since I've checked on what's out there, so I will put it on my list to look for when I'm checking for things in the near future. If/when I can find something like this, I too would like to be able to add it. But I want it to be "good" too and not something lame and frustrating. So, until then......the one Melissa setup will probably work for most people. But this is a good idea and glad it was raised.

Great idea with the map, adding it to the top of the welcome wagon sounds great.
Looks like Deunan and I are quite a ways from everyone else, way up here in the Yukon. oh well we will keep each other good company and its not like we just have to hang out with other Eskies theres lots of nice dogs up here.

Hi all, my name is Jessica and i too have an eskie!!!! We are from Scranton Pa . her name is sugar and she is 3 years old I don't know how to post a pic yet, so bare with me until i figure this out. I actually purchased sugar from a local pet shop, they told me that i was getting a standard, but i got a mini. I figured no sense in complaining because she is the best dog i could have asked for.....she loves her mommy!!! she follows me around like my shadow, she sleeps on my pillows and she sits the bathroom while i shower. when i move she moves, sometimes is annoying, but mostly i love it. My 11 year old daughter gets a upset because she wants sugar to love her that way, its not gonna happen. Sugar could care less about Rebecca. Poor kid.  Sugar doesn't really like strangers to much, she has a hard time adjsuting to new people, she'll bark for an hour and run around the house like a crazy person. and finally will calm down. But then she forgets them immediately. and starts barking all over again. Sugar was a city dog for 2 years and then we moved to the country with 10 acres of land. that is best exercise for her. no more leashes, the only problem i have the cow poop she rolls in every other day!!!! she comes home so gross. Although she loves taking baths. She gets them so often. she has no choice but to love t hem. We also have another dog her name is Maple, she is a "mutt". I love her very much. Sugar however isn't to sure about Maple, sometimes she likes her and other times she wants to kill her. I thinks its a love hate relationship. Maple loves sugar she thinks sugar is her mother, but sugar is unsure of her feelings for maple. well thanks for having me i hope you all enjoy your day |

Hi Jessica, like Sugar, my Breia is the same way, but she's just a tiny puppy...She'll follow me everywhere! It's so adorable!
I also added myself and Breia onto the map...we're the only ones in Nevada! Well, at least we're close to Cali! |

I have just been looking at the map (not the frappr one but the one 7 lines above this one (next to "members") and we do have quite a few people on there - but quite a few are not. There are actually some states that have no one in them - we should try and fix that so we have members in every state.

Added myself to the list. I live in Bryan, TX but I'm in San Antonio a couple weekends a month visiting my boyfriend. Attempted to put myself in both places bc I'll be moving to SA in a few months but the option isn't available. O'well.

Which map are you looking at? On the map built into this message board there are (I think) 5 members in Wisconsin. |
