Is it OK to talk about a dvd I just purchsed?  I see and understand that we can not promote ourselves but was not sure about discussing a dvd that I purchased.  (I have seen references to books and training tools on the site in past postings.)  If it's OK, what are the parameters?

If it is a dvd about eskies or has an eskie on it then sure  ...  as all of us will want one!!
Now if it like a movie and has nothing to do with eskies then you can post it in the Lounge section.

If it's a video you bought from somewhere/someone else, that's fine to mention it. If it's a video you are making to sell, then it's currently not appropriate(I hope before long to have a more dedicated method of allowing things like that though). I will spare a long explanation for now, but hope to have things somewhat different in this respect in the near future...but in a controlled manner.

BUT.....for items you purchase or see elsewhere that are eskie or dog related, that is ok. As long as you are not personally profitting or elsewise directly benefitting(financially, etc.) from such mention. So, if it's just a neat eskie or dog video that you want to share your opinion of, that should be just fine.

No profiting from it on this end!  I lined the authors pockets a little I'm sure.

It's not Eskie specific - it's about dogs in general.  I don't want to call it a training dvd because it's not.  It's basically dog psychology.  I found it in my quest for more info on that subject and just wondered if anyone else has seen it, what they thought, etc.
