Today was the annual flea market in my sister's neighborhood. Just about every other house was having a yard sale. I brought Luna and Loki over there for some much needed socialization. I wasn't too sure of how they would do as they can be timid when I take them on our morning walks, but they did so well!!!! I'm so happy with with them.
Beth and I saw a lot of feet during the 2 hours it took us to go about a mile. We didn't see much of what was for sale as everyone wanted to stop and say hello to the puppies. They got lots of pets and scratches. They met people of all shapes and sizes and types. They did so well. They sat nicely for everyone, happily accepted scratches, would lay down and ask for belly rubs a few times and never got tired of the people. I can't tell you the number of times we heard "they are soooo cute".
Matt, my BIL, met us for lunch and joined us for part of our trek back home. He wanted to get me a set of cards with an FAQ to hand to people as we were constantly asked how old they were, what breed they were, how big they will get, if they shed, etc., etc., etc. There were several people who recognized the breed which I just loved. A few wanted to think they were Samoyeds, but we corrected them (nicely).
They also met a bunch of dogs along the way. Several that were much larger than they could ever dream of being (including a greyhound), some that were tiny and some that were just right. Their favorites were another Eskie

and those that were their same size. They did very well with all of the dogs as well. No growling, happy sniffs, and only barking back at some across the street.
About 3:00 they started getting really tired. They were still happy to meet people, but they didn't want to walk anymore so Beth and I tried to make a beeline for her house. At times we had to carry them as they just refused to walk anymore. We got stopped a few times along the way, but made it quick. The puppies slept the entire way home, woke up enough when we got home to go potty and watch me go in and out of the house a few times and now they are both back to sleep. Loki is even snoring occasionally.
It will probably be very quiet around here for the rest of the evening, so maybe I'll get to start a new book or watch a movie without being interrupted.
