Not yet, Jenny......that will come with the new boards and all.....

Sorry until then......but hopefully the link Helene gave works well for now! I think I'll pin this topic at the top of this section for now...so if anyone else has questions they can find it for the time being! If you have any problems logging in or whatever, let me know.....

Take care....

Help!

We now have a MacBook that's running Safari.  I just tried to get into Chat and couldn't.  I accepted the certificate and got to the page where I click on "connect" but nothing happened when I did.  My firewall isn't on.  Any suggestions?

Yes I was right. Am there now.
After you click on the cert accept, do nothing untill the screen comes up that gives you the writing line at the bottom and the list on who is on right hand side.

Yes, its right below the "Return to Login Page".  I used click on it when I was on a PC using mozilla.  I'm waiting it out now, but it doesn't seem like anything is happening.  Darn Mac never tells me what's happening or what's not happening

Well, enabling the Firewall and loading Mozilla Firefox on didn't help  X( .  I guess we'll have to do some more work to figure this thing out. So I won't be chatting for a while.

Yep, maybe I'll need to do some more sleuthing. I can try to come up with some alternative login methods as well.....but will have to test them out and see how they go. I'll post when I have more info. Thanks for the trouble info though.....

Thanks Michael.  It could be something on our end too, but we just don't know.  Macs don't tell you what's wrong, they just sit there

When I'm logged onto my work server I can not use the Chat Room for whatever reason.. it blocks it.  But, when I log off and get on my regular internet connection I can log in just fine.  Maybe something with that?   Jenny Jen do you have iPass or another work connect associated with computer?

Wrong Jenny Tongue

Its our home network and its the one I used to use for the previous computer, a PC laptop.  We got rid of the PC as it was getting quirky and switched over to a MacBook because the primarily use is for internet access.  In addition MacBooks tend to be more durable.  So, we switch and now I can't chat and can't figure out why because my IT guy (a.k.a. Dan, my dear husband) can't figure out what the Mac is doing cause it doesn't tell us.  ARGH!

Can't comment on the Mac personalities, but I know what you're saying....they never made much sense to me. I'll try to get an alternative setup soon so you can play with that. Will be in touch and let you know. But any other trouble shooting insight anyone comes up with, let me know. Thanks

Jenny,
I also have a MacBook and just logged on okay.  I'm using Firefox, haven't tried on Safari.  So, apparently, it isn't a Mac problem.  ????

Thanks Donna.  That's good to know.  I've tried FireFox too and wasn't able to log on using that one either.  Well, I guess it time to get some one on one attention from the guys at the Apple store.

Jenny, can you download Internet Explorer and try that?  I have't tried logging in yet, but maybe I should.

I've tried using chat recently too - and I think I'm having the same problem that jennyb is having.

I get the certificate and then just a blank white screen and it says at the bottome applet started or something.  But I've never been able to get past the plain white screen.

Not sure I'm in the right area, but my name is Staci and I'm new to the chat Eskie group. I have a two year old male that I show in conformation and rally. I hope to figure out this web site and get lots of info and show photos soon.
