In obedience class with Kooza we are learning fun but important things to teach our dogs.

One of them is of course the "drop" command. I missed that class last week (which I will retake in February) but the teacher sent us a video of how to do it. It is 10 minutes but worth watching.

I'll start practicing this over the holidays with Kooza. Should be ahead of class in Feb. hihi

Interesting to see how the dog can even drop a hotdog at the single sound of the word "drop". Wonder how mine will do on that one. hihi They will probably swallow whole before I even get there. Big Grin But seriously, this command one day may save your dogs life as we know they can get into a lot of things. Right now, their thrill of a lifetime is munching grass. Soil is still not frozen (warmest December ever for Montreal area) and lots of rain so my grass is a mess instead of a snow cover. Wished I had a solid "drop". I'll be ready for next spring when snow (which I'm sure we'll have as some point) melts bringing along muggier grass.

Have fun trying this with your dogs. Come tell us how they do! Smile

Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there!
