ours was.....argh. bed at 10:30 after a lovely day witht he whole family at mom's pool. well, we had stopped home mid-day for the dogs potty break to find a giant poo pile int eh hallway. no idea the culprit. with a new dog and a dog on medicine its anyones guess. anyway. so we come home, relax. oops, HP pees all over the carpet steamer. the very same one i had used to to clean the above hours earlier. ok, no biggie. go to bed. snoops in his crate recently, because of his butt issues. around 1, he wakes up in a holy frenzy. to the extent that he managed to mangle the softside crate. i sleepwalk take him out, try to put him back int eh crate, he flips out again, and i just bring him to bed. back to sleep. 5am comes. and the door bounds open and here's HP. and THAT SMELL. we both jolt awake, and go one a poop finding mision. we find pee but no poop. and grant finds a basked he has counter surfed, grabbed and eaten. guess HP got bored. it was the basket i kept on the counter to hold the kongs and such. wonderful. it's not in 2834723765348 pieces. so we re-gate him for the remainder of the night and go to bed. wake up an hour and a half later and take everyone out. still, THAT SMELL. i finally find it. he had found a pile of grants shoes int he spare room, and pooped in/on all of them. all his sneakers, dress shoes, etc. (sidenote: this is why i am constantly saying, shoes go in the closet, not in a pile on the floor.) so now, i am trying to salvage at least one pair for him to wear today while i have the rest cleaned, clean the carpet, etc. at 7 am. we have now been awake 3 times. juet like the puppy days! looks like my prophecy of "the week honeymoon" has come true. in all honesty, i think the fact that there are two kinds of food down, and the dogs are into both all the time is the cause. we have to be more diligent about feeding times and such to prevent this. but, ugh, what a way to start a monday.
