Anyone give their best friends supplements? Vitamins that food doesn't supply or for their coats?

if your feeding a good quality of food, supplements aren't necessary.

if you really want one, NuVet vitamins are great for eskies.

I don't, unless they are really sick. Then I would give them a bit of Nutripet to help. But I do give a (or 2) zinc cookie to Takoda (but all 3 get one) because of his black skin disease. It helps keeping his coat as nice as I can. It does not do miracles but seems to help him.

The only supplements that I give mine are garlic tablets for fleas and a joint care tablet to help Mona and Manning.

In addition, I wanted to add that supplements can sometimes be harmful to the pup. One of the members on this board was giving them to her pup ever since she got him. A couple years ago, she discovered that he was losing his pigment around his lips, and it was almost like a rash or something along those lines. After many many tests to try to root out the allergies they thought he was suffering from, it turns out the supplements she was giving him was the culprit. She stumbled upon this by accident, too. She stopped giving them to him, and everything cleared up. I'll have to find the thread about that, too, so I can be sure my facts are straight....
