grant has alwys thought training comes easy. he wasnt around when the dogs were young and sees the aduly by product. he was around for the terror of felix and oscar for a few months a few summers back and we all lived to tell about it. anyway.

last night we were out watering and snoopy, as he does, "escaped" out the back door onto the porch. i let them both out there to sit and watch us. as we walked around to the front of the house, i told them to stay put. so they sat. about 5 minutes later we finished and came back to the back porch adn they were still there. he was amazed. i was not Smile i trained them to do that, after all.

it's those little things. snoopy may dart onto the back porch every chance he gets, but it's to lay down in the sun. open the front door and they sit, and freeze. no one crosses a door. not like that nakkeys  Evil  anyway. a hat tip to good thorough training.

what are your stories? geno shared some so i thoguth i'd start a new thread rather than be a hijacker Wink

I have Komite trained to wake me up if I stop breathing in the middle of the night.  I have really bad sleep apnea so it took a lot of my laying down on my back and holding my breath and guiding him to nudge me before he understood that no breath + nudge = treat.

Awwww, such good doggies.

My previous dog, the one I grew up with as a child, would give us signals an earthquake was coming.... but I guess that has nothing to do with training.
