Seriously, look on the Eskie Rescuers United site and you'll see dozens and dozens of fabulous dogs.  Sometimes there are puppies there too.

And don't for a minute underestimate the advantages of adopting an adult dog.  There's the pee and poo everywhere, the furniture legs chewed to pieces, the human flesh chewed to pieces, the crazy behaviors you have to train them out of, and on and on.  Oh yes, these can be controlled by the truly strong-willed and yes nothing is cuter than an Eskie puppy.  All I'm saying is--think about it......

Tricia is right. In fact I have a very young, standard who is one of the finest Eskies I've rescued. He was to be destroyed last week as he was found as a stray and his time was up in the shelter I pulled him from. Beautiful coat, beautiful eyes, playful, but not destructive. Gets along with other dogs and is very family friendly. He is beyond the chewing stage and is in the playful stage and young enough to be taught the neat stuff. He is not in any way obnoxious, or a constant barker. As Tricia stated, I do fly my adoptables to their new homes.Figure in the area around $300.00 including new kennel, health certificate, and ticket. I handle all arrangements and get the dog to the airport where it flys on Continental Airlines. He will be fully vetted, and neutered before the trip.

There are a number of CA breeders listed at the link below.  I know the list is old, but I think it is still a good place to start.  Two breeders listed are in the Bay Area and I think both are active.

However, Sue Lundsford, a breeder in Santa Rosa, CA, recently rescued a number of eskies, 12 I think, and is looking for homes for them.  My friend recently adopted one of the rescues.  The best thing is to call Sue because my understanding was she didn't/doesn't have access to email for a period of time.  She has already been cited by the city/county for the number of dogs (which she rescued last month) so if you are open to a rescue, please contact her.  As I mentioned before, she is also a breeder... I forget which size though, but if not the size you're looking for, she probably can refer you to other breeders.
