About a month ago Dini got really sick- vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargic.  He was diagnosed with pancreatitis and put on several medications.  I was told that it was probably caused by something that he ate, a fatty meat, and that I needed to only let him have his dog food and treats- absolutely no table scraps or human food.  He is completely fine now, but I am so worried/paranoid about him eating foods that we eat.  We went to the park today for a picnic and I felt so bad that he wasn't allowed any of the “good” snacks.  I am so paranoid about what to put in his Kong and what to use as treats for training.  He is very food motivated so long as the food is human food.  He really isn't interested in his own food at all.  Another thing that worries me is that the veterinarian told me not to change up his foods as this could be bad for pancreatitis.  I want to make sure he has a food that he likes, but I want it to be healthy for him as well.  I have read about all of the snacks that are loved by other eskies on the board- carrots, peanut butter, cheese, even the cute barkday cakes, but I am afraid to let Dini try any of these things.  What are my limits when it comes to letting him try new things?  How do I introduce snacks for training without causing additional health problems?  Is everything human bad for him now?  I have googled 'canine pancreatitis' and I have no idea which websites are accurate and good for this sort of thing.  Please help!!!

I love Whole Dog Journal Articles.  Always very informative and through.

Here is a link to one of their Pancreatitis articles.
