I am so thrilled at his progress since we got him in April.

He has been watching the other dogs get belly rubs and I could tell he wants one so badly but just cannot bring himself to submit like that.  But one morning Sesi came over who he is the closest too and while I was petting her she flipped over for a belly rub so he came over and I started petting him and talking to him but I couldn't get him to roll over and he was twisting his head around and making all the movements but couldn't do it.

So I got down on my knees and gently rolled him over and he stayed like that for a few minutes and let me rub his belly and he was just loving it up.

Since then he will crawl over to me and let me pet him and he touches my feet with his paws and makes these mouth noises to let me know he wants to be petted.

Tonight....TA DA....He came to me and rolled over for a belly rub and stayed there for the longest time before getting up.  I even got some kisses.

He is slowly coming out of his shell and it is the most wonderful feeling to see him ask for attention and learn to trust.  He will still crouch down when you go to get him so this was huge for him.

I'm so proud of my little Bear.  Smile

I will be posting pics soon of my little gang again.  Time to update my sig pics again.

You are right!  He as bonded to me more than my husband who he is still shy of.

This morning he came to me and rolled right over.   Big Grin  Didn't take him long to figure out what feels good.

Sharon, you are right!  Sesi has been so good with him and for him.  They are best buds!!!

Great job with him, Lynne!! I'm so glad that Bear found a place where he can learn to trust again, so he doesn't miss out on one of a dog's life's great sources of joy -- belly rubs! Big Grin

Did you tear up when he rolled over for the rub the first time?  'Cuz I teared up reading that he did it!
