This afternoon my husband got a call from our alarm company that our security alarm was going off.  We've had trouble with it lately, so he wasn't overly concerned that it was a real alarm.  He was on his way home anyway, so he told the alarm company not to send the police.  He was quite surprised to find the dogs loose in the house when he got home.  He forgot about them when he left this morning, so they had freedom throughout the house all day!  The funny part of this is that the alarm didn't go off until about 4:30, and it was the motion detector that tripped it, so we think they SLEPT ALL DAY LONG WITHOUT MOVING!!!  I've always thought they were trustworthy, and thankfully they proved me right, and didn't get into anything during their freedom.

Don't you have pet motion detectors? This is what we have on all floors here because of height, they could get on furniture or stairs and be detected without it. Especially cats as they are climbers and jumpers. Which would have created many false alarms.

Helene, ours are just regular motion detectors.  I can't believe they didn't set it off all day long until late in the afternoon.  We did this once before, only the police came that time.  When I arrived at home, the police informed me they could see three fluffy "perpetrators" inside.  Note to self:  If leaving the dogs loose in the house, make sure the alarm is set on STAY not AWAY!

Magic and Monty have the run of our house when we are at work, but we think they lay in the big windowsill all day long and patiently wait for us to come home.  We took them to doggie day care today for the first time, we are anxious to hear how it went when we pick them up at 5pm.
