I live in Havelock NC. I'm 19 and I had my own house for about 2 years. During that time I took regular walks and on one walk I found an Eskie tied to a tree. He was filthy, flea and tick infested, and had plaster matted all in his fur. I brought him home washed him up, cut all the plaster out of his fur and took him to the vet. Thankfully he tested negative for any diseases. The vet estimated him to be about 8 months old. That was last October, so he would be a little over a year now. I got him fixed and put him on flea meds. He became my baby Smile I'm madly in love with him. Unfortunately life took a wrong turn and I had to move back in with my dad who is a hoarder, so there is absolutely no room for Koji to be inside. He doesn't have a fenced in yard either, so Koji has been stuck outside all day long tied up in this heat. As you all may know his breed just isn't supposed to be exposed to this heat for this long. He's gotten several ear infections from it that I've had to treat.

So it's time for me to do whats best for him. I REALLY need to find him a GOOD loving home with someone who is familiar with his breed. He's EXTREMELY hyper and needs lots of patients and time. He needs to be an INDOOR dog, and have someone their to love him.

If anyone can help me find him a wonderful home I'd be appreciative beyond words. I love him so much and just want to see him happy.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask

My email is : Cataholixx@yahoo.com

Thanks so much,
-Cat.

i am very sorry for your situation. have you tried contacting Eskie Rescuers? i am a volunteer, and while i am in PA, we are active in the south. www.eskierescuers.org there is an owner surrender form to submit. make sure you clarify that the dog is being kept outside in the summer heat. also try emailing the executive directors, listed on the "contacts" page of that website.

You might also want to contact South Heartland Rescue. They specialize in Nordic Breed rescue, including Eskies. I don't know much about them but they are located pretty close to you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely look into those options as well.

@Steve: He is wonderful with other animals. He just wants to play. I've always had him around cats and my mom brings her dogs to come play with him often. He's completely non-aggressive.

My mom does take him from time to time when she can. But she does in home care for an 89 year old woman. Koji would knock her down if he was left there alone with her. So shes only able to take him when she's home.

I have been in contact with Cat, and referred her to this board.  I only live 30 minutes from her, but I am unable to take another eskie right now, which breaks my heart, because this little guy would be awesome to have!  (Long story short - experienced recent loss of pregnancy, trying to figure out if we can have another child, possible bed rest in my future).

So, having said that, if anyone would be willing to take him, I will gladly volunteer within the next two weeks to help drive him to a new home, if Cat would like the help and if help is needed.   I know in the past we've done a "railroad" on the board, each person taking one leg of a journey.  So, I'll be totally willing to help within the next few weeks.

Please let's find this guy a great home!!
