Cleo finally went outside for the first time yesterday!  Usually i take her out and she barks at me or tries to dig a hole or she runs around the small yard space.  I got home from work, scooped her up and imediatly ran her outside before she had a chance to "have an accident on me" I then sat for 2 hours waiting and brought her water outside so she was forced to try to wait me out.  When she finally went I think she was scared by the lavish praise and profered people food treat that she -never- gets (captain crunch peanut butter puffs) and calmed down after the initial spook and then went a second time when she realized what it meant later that night.  She did have one accident in the mean time, but it's a start =)

That's great news!

That's great!! Sounds like she is starting to understand the treats, too!  Once she figures out that she can do things to earn yummy treats, it will be so much easier to train her.   Wink

How is Evania enjoying having her puppy home?  Are you going to keep Cleo, or are you looking for a new home for her?

She's 100% a cross between mom and dad.  She has mom's brains and dad's manipulation.

She will ONLY go outside if I have peanutbutter crunch in my hand.  She watches for me to go into the kitchen.  If I forget and don't go into the kitchen first she will pee on the floor right next to the door.  We're working on that.  She's sitting on command now and will start to pick up her paw for a shake but won't let me touch her foot yet.

For right now I'm holding on to her to see if her family will take her back in a month and will keep her if they don't so long as she can get along with Evania.  In the mean time I am bringing her up to Evania and Komite's level of traning.  Her barking has calmed down and she's reliably going into her crate when we go to bed.  She also has stopped crying and barking to get out of it during the night so long as she can see us sleeping.

Evania is slowly calming down with her, but the dom struggle is still going on.  They will now play nicely most of the time.  Cleo was Komite's favorite and will get into some pretty bad fights with Evania if she is being too harsh on Cleo.  He will latch on to Evania's tail and pull until she lets go of Cleo.  I've had to separate them a few times.

I'll get pictures when I can remember where my camera is =)

is Evania spayed?  That can help.

Also, I would keep them separated for the time being execept taking them on walks together.  After a couple of weeks of that, then start letting them hang out in the living room with you with leashes on.  Keep Evania crated outside of the walks and living room time.  These first two steps are looking for evania to figure out that "all good things happen when the puppy is around"  Depending on how they are doing, you can start working toward "normal" for your household.
