Seems like Kiki thinks she's a sheep because she's white and fluffy.  Anyway, she has developed the habit lately of eating huge chunks of freshly mown grass while out walking.  I cannot get her to drop it because she eats the grass in one or 2 bites.  Strangely enough, Kiki has been having problems with loose stools ever since we moved into an apartment in Central PA which only cleared up a day or 2 after she picked up her grass eating habit (we tried things such as pepto bismol and probiotic food supplements with no impact).  Everything has been fine since then.  Is there any possible hazard to eating all this grass?  She only eats grass which is in clumps after being mown and it's not pesticide sprayed.

My guys like the clumps of grass too.  they will also graze like they are cows which makes me angry.  I don't want them eating grass but they all do it.

Both Atka & Nuka go nuts over the freshly mowed grass clumps. If they over eat it (as in they eat tons and tons of it throughout the day), I find they may have slightly runny stools. Sounds like Kiki knew exactly what her own tummy needed in order for it to get cleared up. Smart Sheep, if you ask me! Smile

My girls eat fresh green grass.  I am having my grass cut by professionals this summer (summer of 100 degree plus temperatures) and I always tell them, "Leave some grass for the dogs".  (In the backyard, not out front.)

haha...I guess Kiki is self healing by eating grass. Although she always loved grass with or without stomach problems. It just so happens now it is helping with her loose stool a lot for some reason following grass eating. I won't let her eat a lot, maybe 2 clumps, but she goes into hound dog mode and sniffs the grass until she gets a good clump to eat. =)

Oh also just a note, kiki runs in circles when I come home and she is so excited she comes up to me, bark, jump at me, and then run in circles around the room, then go to her water/food bowl to drink and munch on kibbles, as if she is saying, i miss you, see i am eating and drinking well...lol it's so funny though.
