Hot Hot Hot!!  Both the weather and the dogs!

I took them yesterday (Saturday) just for the first run of the day--Jackpot.  It was a traditional Jackpot where you ran anywhere you wanted to collect points, then the whistle blew and you had 18 seconds to go to the Gamble area (with the tape on the ground) and send your dog over a jump to the far tunnel entrance, then the dog had to stay out parallel to you and take another jump and end at the table. I couldn't believe I timed it perfectly and was in good position when the whistle blew for both dogs. And they both got the gamble. Shasta thought about coming back to me after the tunnel, but I kept running with my arm out saying GO GO GO! and at the very last second she turned to the jump. Yay!

Today we went back for the full day--5 runs.

FullHouse was fun as usual. You get to make up your own course and take any obstacles you want for points.  Both dogs Q'd Level 5, Kola with a 3rd place.

Standard was a really difficult course with lots of traps but we nailed it. Shasta got 1st place in Level 5 and Kola got 1st place in Level 4.

Wildcard wasn't too bad and again we nailed it. Shasta got 3rd place in Level 5 and Kola got 1st place in Level 4.

We were all getting hot and tired, with Snooker and Jumpers left. I planned a nice Snooker course but it was a lot of running.  Kola really didn't want to run; I think he would have been happy just sitting on the start line, but he was a trooper and did a really nice course with a lot of cheerleading from me.  Shasta had a bit more energy and surprised me with her speed and the fun she had.  Two more Q's with Shasta in 4th place and Kola in 3rd for Level 5.

We had done so well, Qualifying in every run for 10 total and the dogs and I were hot and tired. So I decided to scratch Jumpers and not push them. They had given me 110% all weekend.

Three of Shasta's runs counted toward her CATCH (CPE Agility Champion) title so we're now down to 7 more Q's needed. I can hardly stand it!!

Congratulations Kathy and the Snowpups!!  Sounds like an incredible weekend!  Thanks for the explanations of the different courses--I'm still confused as to what everything means.  Did you have to travel, or was this CPE close to home?

Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there!

Thanks everyone!  I don't think it really hit me until I read all your responses that we Q'd 10 for 10.  Whew!

After going through Shasta's second rehab for the first six months this year, I'm just so happy to be able to play this game with two such wonderful dogs. They truly are amazing!

Amy, I didn't have to travel far at all. It was about 50 minutes from my house.
