I'm very saddened to report. The last 24+ hours have been rough back and forth to the emergency vet. Without going into all the details, just to say that Tasha lost 2 of her 3 pups (aborted not fully formed). She has one left in the womb and he/she is BIG and has a strong Heart Beat. Please pray that he/she makes it, is healthy and that Tasha has an easy time delivering him/her.

Tasha's fine! She's taking all this like a trouper. She was wagging her tail the entire time at the E-Vet and was calm and obedient through all the procedures. She's such a good girl. I hope she's able to be a mommy. She deserves it, after all this.

Oh wow Tammy. I am so so sorry. I am glad that Tasha is unfazed by all this because I know it is hard enough on you already. Not having experienced anything like that before, what happened? This is early for her to have gone into labor, right, so how did you find this all out?

From time of 1st Breeding (Not conception) due date could have been anywhere from the 19th of this month through to the 28th of this month. I think the two were lost several weeks back. Taffee and Tasha had gotten into a horrible fight (no one was hurt outwardly), but I'm thinking that this would have been the stage they were suppose to have been at, during the time of the fight. I think they may have become detached in the fight. The one I saw was good size/form, just stopped short from continuing to develope. I feel horrible. I tried keeping Tasha in a bubble, but she's just so dang active/fiesty. THe stupid fight was over my pair of socks I left in my shoes that I had kicked off by the sofa. Taffee came over and stole them out of the shoes and Tasha flew off/jumped off the sofa and landed on Taffee to get them back. They ran in to the bedroom fighting and by the time I got there behind me they had been into for a bit. No blood was shed, not even any hair was pulled out, but I think it was rough enough that it may have jarred the poor babies away from the uterine wall. It is a critical phase of their developement. Remaining pup is hugh! I'm now just worried she'll be able to have him safely. Right now he's totally stretched out the length of her body with butt facing out. He could still turn around, but vet said pups can be born backwards ok.

unfortunately these things happen. Sad as they are. Tanzy only had one pup and we had to do a C-section. Because of his single status, he was very close to being a swimmer pup so you might read up on prevention techniques on that. That bit of prevention can save you alot of trouble/heartache later and is simple to do from the beginning. We ended up having to do alot of PT to help him learn to walk because he was SOOOOOO fat. He now runs this earth believing he can do no wrong because that is what I alway told him!

Just got back from my regular vet. Good news is that puppy is stressfree (good heart rate of 220-240) and moving around a little (normally). Tasha is also stress free and looking good, like nothing happened. She's currently resting peacefuly next to me.
She had a blood test performed to check her progrestrone levels. Vet will decide from the results, if the little guy missed his ride out the other day (when the other fetus whelped) or if she just basicly aborted the others to give him a clear passage on the real whelp date. IF he missed his ride and vet does not think she'll go back into another natural labor (which will be strong enough based on hormone levels), then we'll do a C-section on Wednesday or Thursday, which would be full term according to the vets records on when her LH levels peaked during pre-pregnancy tests.
I know it all sounds weird.. but no sleep and tons of stuff being thrown at me, is the simplified version above.

Well, I hope that things go well and the puppy comes sometime this week. Good luck!! what did the vet say about the fight? Did he think that that might have been the cause of the two puppies dying?
