I took Brimley out for a walk today.  He did so well.  No pulling No Barking, No trying to jump into ditches bigger than me.   He was fabulous.  I even walked him past Kodi.  Not close but walked where he could see him.  I kept my cheerios out and the clicker and every time he say him I treated him.   There was even a walker go past us and he didn't even react.   I am so very proud of my guy.  Such a stress free walk... LOVE IT!

P.S.   I just got him one of those sensible harnesses.   oh man what a difference. Smile

Congratulations to you and Brimley!   Happy  Riley isn't a puller (unless he sees someone with food  Tongue ) but Kody the sammy is.  We LOVE the Sensable harness we got for him a few months ago and so far it has worked far better than any training methods, treats, distractions, etc. we've tried to minimize the pulling.  I know we probably won't be able to eliminate it entirely.  Sammies were born to pull.  But at 65 lbs. he can drag me into the street in pursuit of a squirrel and the harness makes that impossible now.

That is great!!!  I am glad that he did so well for you - keep working with him and don't let him get away with anything.

Good boy Brimley!!!!  It's so much nicer to take them out on a walk and not get pulled all over the place.

yesterday we tried it without the new harness and the walk was so bad that we turned around and I put the harness back on.  He was much better and only tried to jump into one ditch.  Did I mention that the ditches where I live are bigger than me and full of water.

Now that it's warm we have been going for 3 mile walks twice to three times a day.  I've been trying to lose weight he is a good helper in making me get up and running.
