After all the indulging on bad treats over the holidays, we have to get back in shape. Time for a spinning class. This might be a little challenging since I can’t reach the pedals.

And we have to eat healthy now too!

I’ll go with Whole Wheat with Extra Meat, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Cucumbers please.

I’ll have light mayo, mustard and wait...are those cookies I see over there on the left?

I love being in this city, Wendell said he had a great time here and told me I just have to make sure I checked out the sights! The building behind me is a prominent landmark and an example of 19th century neoclassical architecture. It has also been the meeting place for the Senate and the House of Representatives for over two centuries.

My host tells me this Monument was built in honor of George Washington. It stands 555’ 1/8’’ tall and you can see views from it over 30 miles! It was finished on 12/6/1884.

Here I am a little closer up. (By the way do you like my new hair bow and pretty scarf? These were my Christmas gifts from Santa!)

I wonder if I will get to meet a handsome boy named Bo.

Me being silly and trying to kiss the camera!

Don’t worry Police, I’m not another White House Crasher.

I know the place including the mall but I'm too new to the board to know who lives there although one of you may have given me a clue in an unrelated post.  When does the guessing start?

Tammy will post a note saying when we can start guessing.  One hint...at the top of the page there is a "map" button.  You can look and see who lives where.  Also be sure to add yourself!

There is a second map under the welcome tab....in one of the conversation threads, there is a link to it.  Some people are posted on one map, some on the other and some on both.

I guess Cozzy and Leo's family!  The first day's clue showed the time capsule.  I was able to do a search on that and found the city and I knew who lived in that area.  Later clues confirmed my original guess, such as the doggy supply store where there was a pic of the Sammy Snacks and then the spinning bike thing.  Of course, in pics posted today, I recognized Cozzy because of his cute pink ears!

Vanita, you sure dressed Willow up so pretty!

Yup, Willow definitely went to visit our good buddies Cozzy & Leo!!  I recognized the shelves from the doggie store (my favorite one in the DC area!!), and then found the time capsule.

Awesome job Vanita, we had so much fun on Willow's visit!!   Big Grin  Big Grin  Big Grin

I knew it from day 3....but I'm not the one who found it. I put my French folks on the CSI skills too with some of the hints received. haha. From the shopping center, the rest is history as they say. hihi

Congratulations. Great job. I had no clue for the caboose, nor the time capsule.

IT WAS US!!!

We had a great time with Willow! I felt bad because I had so many great plans with Willow but I ended up getting really sick over the Holidays and had to put everything on hold. So I ended up making her trip here about the holidays and all the fun that goes along with it.. ie shopping, eating, New Year's eve etc.

I will post back later today or tomorrow with an update on the different days. We had some really funny stories (and yes the Subway guy did think I was nuts!!) I really didn't think people would find the caboose and the time capsule- I had searched for it in google in so many different ways and thought it would be hard to find.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the pics- stay tuned later today or tomorrow for a day by day breakdown on her visit with us!!

Willow- I hope you are having fun with your next family!!!

Day 1:
The Red Caboose is on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail in Northern Virginia. The Caboose was donated to the town because of the importance of the area having the first railroad battle in history and also because of the plans for the Town’s Centennial celebration.

The Time Capsule is located in the same area at Centennial Park and was part of the celebration in 1990.  Under the marker is a Blue Star Memorial plaque, commemorating veterans of American wars, and a Time Capsule plaque.

Day 2:
This was Willow’s day to go to a big Christmas tree at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, DC. I was going to do pictures with the National Tree next to the White House, but I knew that would be a giveaway. So I decided to just have her pose with a nice big tree with all those beautifully wrapped gifts!!! (This wasn’t at my house!)

The mini-Santa in the picture is at my house though, it was just a small decoration piece. I thought it was the perfect size for Willow’s Santa visit and she asked for some nice things for Christmas.

Day3:
What are the Holidays without a little shopping right??  I took Willow to the Tysons Corner Mall. The mall is huge- it actually has two separate areas- one with the normal shops and then a fancier side with all the designer places.  They also have these little train rides for the kids at the mall near the food court. Willow also got to check out some pretty bows and a scarf from a doggie store near our place.  (Santa was listening to her request too!)

Day 4:
Another day at the mall with Willow. The Sushi Conveyor Belt is a new place that just opened up in the mall. There are lots of great sushi restaurants in the DC Metro area, this probably isn’t one of them though!!  I thought it was an interesting picture, but there is NO way I would eat sushi that has been riding around on the belt for a while.  They do cover each plate though, and I believe the price is by the color of the plate or something like that.  Willow also stopped by the play area at the mall before heading to the movie theater.  People thought I was crazy putting her on the escalator and at various spots around the mall.  I thought since “Avatar” was the big hype over Christmas time, I would have her watch that movie. Unfortunately it was sold out! We still have to go back and watch the movie at the theater one of these days!

Day 5:
Happy New Year!  If anyone looked up Dom Perignon on the Eskie Board site- you would see us pop up! We won this bottle at a Silent Auction at the Bark Ball in 2008. We still haven’t opened the bottle.  For New Year’s Eve we went to a really nice restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental in DC. Willow came with us to the hotel. We actually stayed there for the night so the picture of her on the ledge is from the hotel room.  If you zoom in you can see another sign with a clue that says “Capital Yacht Charters.” (I took the pictures with the Christmas tree for Day 2 from this evening at the hotel!) They gave out the great NYE tiaras and hats to all the guests. Of course I had to get one for her too!!

Day 6:
This building is in Northern Virginia, it’s just an office building but kind of funny looking and many people from around here call it the “Toilet Bowl Building” because of the shape!

Willow also got to pose with some of the Christmas Eskie Card pictures on the side of our refrigerator.  If you don’t see your card in this picture it is because we had both sides of our fridge loaded with cards! I tried to stick a couple of extra ones on at the last minute for the picture with Willow! SmileSmile Thank you all for the wonderful cards! This was our first year participating and we loved it!

Day 7:
This is at our favorite Doggie Store in the area. Willow is having a great time looking at all the yummy treats! Everyone at the store knows us well, and they actually remembered Wendell coming to the store and the pictures from that visit! The Treat bar at the store is really funny- there is no glass on it- so whenever Cozzy walks by, he likes to grab a treat or two! Sneaky boy!!  We got Willow’s cute new accessories from this store too!

Day 8:
I thought this would be a fun day to go along with the “Holiday Theme.” Everyone splurges over the holidays (including me) and so it was time to get back in shape and go to my gym for a Spinning Class.  (Some of my Eskie Friends on here know that I am big on Spinning Classes!)

Then we were off to eat a healthy sub at Subway!  This was a funny day. I just randomly decided to take Willow in for these pictures.  I had her looking on as I was ordering a sandwich. When I got to the front to pay, I put Willow back in her bag and closed it, the guy at the cash register looked really upset by this.  I asked him how much I owed him and he immediately said what are you doing to the dog?  I told him I was just taking pictures and I pulled her back out.  Only THEN did he realize she was a stuffed animal!!! He thought she was real the whole time, and that I had taken her and shoved her in a bag and closed the zipper!!  It was really hilarious!  It’s good to know there are people out there that will say something when they think a pup (real or fake) is being mistreated! hehe! SmileSmile

Day 9:
This was Willow’s Day in DC. She got to visit the Capitol Building, the Washington Monument and the White House.  DC can be a tough place because I knew these places would be a giveaway. So I saved them for Day 9, when I assumed most people had us figured out!  You can see Willow modeling her new gifts from Santa (the bow and the scarf.) Remember she asked for these back on Day 3!!  That day was SO cold and windy outside too- so every time I would sit her down somewhere for a picture she would blow over to her side. So I had to hold her for most of the pictures.  I loved how pretty the sky was that day.  The cops in the SUV at the White House entrance thought I was nuts carrying this dog and taking pictures too! So I had to get the “White House Crasher” picture! SmileSmile

Day 10:
Most of you know Cozzy and Leo go to a daycare called Dogtopia a few times a week.  Willow went with us to pick the boys up, she even sat in the backseat with the boys on the way home.  (Luckily Cozzy didn’t rip her up!) The last two pictures were fun to take with Willow. Cozzy really wanted to steal her and run away, but I had yummy treats in my hand so she was safe!  Leo was adorable too, he couldn’t concentrate on the treats and just kept smelling around in the air (because I would put Willow either on the other side of him or behind him.) I think he definitely could smell all the other Eskies on her!  I love the last picture with them in their bed. I had them both sit together and got them to focus on me with some treats, then I secretly placed Willow behind them and got this adorable picture in front of the Christmas tree!

We had a great time with Willow. I hope all of you enjoyed the pictures!

Vanita, I'm laughing hysterically at your number 8 when you went to Subway and shoved Willow into your bag while the cashier was looking horrified!

I'm thinking that we need to have a second person involved with each Willow/Wendell visit.... this second person would be videotaping the reactions of people watching the host take pictures of a stuffed animal!  Or, if not that, videotaping the host running after Willow blowing away in the wind!

Vanita,
I figured it out with the Toilet Bowl building and passed that one on to another member to help.  I can't believe that building is still standing!  Wonder if you would post a full picture for everyone to see?

That is funny you figured out that building. I didn't think most people would find that one, unless they knew the area!

here it is:
